Our story

Céad Míle Fáilte!

Steeped in local history, Duggan’s Boundary Irish Pub has long been a cornerstone of the Bonnie Doon community — a place where good company and warm hospitality never go out of style. The building itself has worn many hats over the years; its first rendition as a pub was the Frog & Nightgown, where we still proudly display the original stained glass artwork of frogs and nightgowns above the bar.

Situated across from the Faculté St. Jean campus, the pub became part of the Sherlock Holmes Hospitality Group, a locally owned and operated pub group, in 2012. The following year, it was renamed Duggan’s Boundary, in honour of pioneer J.J. Duggan, one of the City of Strathcona’s first mayors. The nearby 91 Street (Rue Marie-Anne Gaboury) once marked the boundary line of the former city — a fitting inspiration for our name.

Today, we carry on the proud tradition of being a true neighbourhood pub — a warm, welcoming spot for friends, families, and familiar faces alike. When the weather allows, guests can also enjoy a pint on our newly renovated back patio.
